Re: FreeBSD 4.7 protectie serioasa anti flood
Hi,
Ipoteza: acel flood contine numai/sporadic pachete (SYN) TCP spre portul 80. Care determina cresterea proceselor Apache. Eventual si alte servicii pe alte porturi.
O posibila solutie: HTTP accept filters. Quoting accf_http(9):
It prevents the application from receiving the connected descriptor via accept() until either a full HTTP/1.0 or HTTP/1.1 HEAD or GET request has been buffered by the kernel.
The utility of accf_http(9) is such that a server will not have to con- text switch several times before performing the initial parsing of the request. This effectively reduces the amount of required CPU utilization to handle incoming requests by keeping active processes in preforking servers such as Apache low and reducing the size of the filedescriptor set that needs to be managed by interfaces such as select(), poll() or kevent() based servers.
Exista si varianta generica accf_data(9) pentru alte servicii. Din cate tin minte Apache-ul de la o anumita versiune suporta acest mecanism.
Hope it helps, Ady (@rofug.ro)
